The world’s increasing population is a long-term trend that offers sustainable growth opportunities for Boskalis. Population growth affects Boskalis in two ways. Firstly, it creates demand for energy, trade and transportation which all require marine infrastructure. Secondly, it drives demand for land in coastal cities that have reached their natural capacity and therefore look to land reclamation to relieve congestion. This land can be used for numerous purposes such as commercial or residential real estate, recreational purposes or for airports.
