Boskalis’ most important strategic objective is the creation of long-term sustainable profitability. Our corporate social responsibility policy seeks to achieve a healthy balance between economic value creation on the one hand, with caring for the environment and social responsibility on the other.
The principal strategic objective of Boskalis is the creation of long-term sustainable value. We conducted an update of our materiality analysis in 2017, incorporating valuable input from across our stakeholder groups. This updated set of priorities forms the basis of our CSR strategy and relates to the Sustainable Development Goals that are relevant for our business.
By actively engaging with stakeholders, we can interact and align our strategy to guide both our business and CSR objectives. We identified and assessed twenty material topics, divided over four material themes.
Since 2009, Boskalis has published an annual CSR report, providing stakeholders with an overview of our CSR strategy and performance. We report in accordance with the international guidelines set out in the Global Reporting Initiative, GRI Standards - level core. All key performance indicators in the CSR report 2017 have been verified with limited assurance by an independent party following the ISAE3000 guidelines.
