Dismantling ticking time bomb Safer

In 2023 SMIT carried out a very uncommon operation off the coast of Yemen in the Red Sea, where a nearly 50-year-old floating storage and offloading facility (FSO) carrying 180 million liters of oil had been rusting away for many years.

Baltic Ace

On 5 December 2012, the car carrier Baltic Ace sank with more than 1,400 cars on board after a collision with a container ship near the entrance of the main shipping lane leading to Rotterdam port. Watch the video about the wreck removal.
