In July 2016 Boskalis concluded the acquisition of offshore-related activities from VolkerWessels. The transaction strengthens Boskalis' position in the attractive, growing offshore wind energy market. The acquired activities included service company for the maritime sector Stemat.
Through the acquisition, Boskalis acquired a variety of specialized floating equipment and a diverse fleet that includes a cable-laying vessel and multi-purpose vessels. The vessels have been integrated into the Boskalis dredging and offshore fleet.
